What is the so-called Hantavirus?

Hantaviruses are a group of viruses that are found in some rodents. In rare cases, this strain of virus can cause a deadly disease called hantavirus pulmonary syndrome which is HPS for short.

The truth is that there is no cure for the hantavirus yet. However, patients who are diagnosed early can go to a hospital for intensive care so that they can avoid fatality. Like the coronavirus, it’s important to act fast when it comes to the hantavirus.

While there are some cases of the hantavirus across China currently, experts are not worried about the disease yet. That’s because it’s not as infectious as our current foe. Still, there are steps being taken to avoid the further spreading of the disease. Even if there is an outbreak, there’s already an immediate solution to it such as rodent control.

 

The hantavirus may be lurking around the corner but that doesn’t mean it’s something you should panic about now. Your current worries should be focused on the coronavirus as it is a far deadlier and more contagious disease. Still, it’s best to be prepared so you should at least inspect your house for rodent problems for now.
