Moscow and Manila Bomb Blasts

Two powerful bomb attacks happened on the same day in two different cities.

Moscow, Russia – At around 4:30 in the afternoon, a bomb explosion killed 35 people and wounded around 100 at Domodedovo Airport in Moscow.  The blast was believed to be a terrorist attack and the act of a suicide bomber. It happened at the entrance of the busiest airport in Moscow where many people were waiting for the arrival of passengers. The homemade bomb was activated in an area that was crowded resulting to deaths and injuries.  The people taken to the hospital were treated for wounds caused by small metal objects from the bomb while others suffered hearing loss, fractures and suffocation from smoke inhalation. Leaders from all over the world condemned the Moscow blast as an outrageous act, barbaric and indiscriminate act of violence.

Manila, Philippines –  Four people were killed and 15 others were injured in bomb explosion inside a passenger bus. Police authorities believed that the powerful bomb was planted under the bus seat. The incident happened at around 2 p.m, while the bus was approaching a rail transit station in Makati City, known to be Manila’s financial district. The motive for the bomb attack is still under investigation.

Possible target sites for terrorist attacks are the airports, public areas, shopping malls, big gatherings and also transport systems.
