New York – one of the busiest, most thrilling places to explore. Much can be said about the place, but first, let’s take a look at its history.

In the year 1524, Giovanni da Verrazano, an Italian national, found the New York Harbor where he met some native Americans. Dutch voyager Henry Hudson navigated the Hudson River in 1609 and became first to visit New York. From that time on, many Dutch people came to visit the place, giving birth to a small village – the New Amsterdam. The place had progressed through trading beaver skins, seals, and selling otter and mink. At first, only the Dutch people inhabited the place. Later, Jews also came to Amsterdam in the year 1654. Its name was changed to New York by the country of England in honor of James, Duke of York.

New York has proven its name when it comes to stunning attractions. Here are some of the best places to visit in New York.

  • Empire State Building- If you want to have a view of the entire New York, visit the Empire State Building. Tickets are available online so you won’t have to wait in line to purchase tickets.
  • Statue of Liberty- This is a remarkable place to visit, and in fact, the first attraction that comes in one’s mind when talking about New York. It is a gift given to the United States as a symbol of friendship during the French Revolution. It serves as the icon of freedom for America.
  • Ellis Island Immigration Museum- Ellis Island Immigration Museum is a magnificent place that emphasizes USA as a place for many immigrants. Located next to Statue of Liberty National Monument, the museum offers the immigrants a captivating tour of exhibits – recordings, photos, archival material and film – for everyone to see.
  • Broadway- This place is also called as Great White Way due to the theater’s lights that glow so bright during the time when electricity was not yet readily available. For visitors in New York watching a blockbuster movie in Broadway is a must-have experience.

The weather in New York is unpredictable. In summer, heat waves are experienced and unbearably cool in winter, although temperate rainfall occurs the whole year.
