Novak Djokovic won his second Australian Open at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne with a triumph over Andy Murray in two hours and 39 minutes.  He now joins Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Lleyton Hewitt as the four current players who have won multiple Grand Slams. In the semi-finals, Djokovic had taken out Federer in three sets. In the finals, he proved his dominance in the court with the 6-4 6-2 6-3 triumph. He took home $2.2 million for his 19th career title.  In his speech during the awarding ceremony, Novak dedicated his victory to his country and also mentioned his concern to the Queensland flood victims.

Born in Serbia, the 23-year old Novak is currently ranked as World’s No.3 by the Association of Tennis Australia. His first grand slam victory was in 2008.  He has been considered the best tennis player in the Serbian history and awarded the Best Sportsperson in his country.  At the age of four, he started playing tennis and began his international career when he was just 14 years old.
