Air pollution is the presence of the unwanted substances in the air such us the sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides, volatile organic compounds, carbon dioxide, aerosols and other different dust elements. Its negative impact to the environment can pose a threat to humans, animals, and vegetation.
Industrialization has contributed much to the air pollution. Smoke coming from big factories and chemical plants around urban areas and from millions of thousands of vehicles every day containing toxic chemicals from fuel combustion and improper waste disposal has seriously damaged our environment.
We can’t deny the fact that mortality is increasing daily at a rapid rate compared to what was hundreds if not thousands of years ago. Many people have died at early age because of cancer, chronic diseases, heart attack, high blood pressure and many others due in part to the rapid change of climate we are experiencing today as a result of our polluted air and environment. The simple healthy lifestyle of the past has changed dramatically to a more sophisticated but complicated life that may be damaging to our health.
When we talk about the effects air pollution, the ones who are greatly affected are the humans and other living things. Humans absorb all the harmful elements of air pollution since they are exposed to it every day. Only few states or countries don’t suffer from air pollution but the rest suffer from it every day. Who takes the blame for this environmental problem?
Nature was perfectly made until man came in. God created nature to provide the needs of the human kind. But the abuse in the environment has slowly devastated and destroyed the world in which people live. Among these are scientific experiments and production of harmful substances which are damaging to our environment. But of course, we can’t deny the fact that human inventions like vehicles, and generation of energy and many others are very useful to because it make life a lot easier – and shorter.
There would be no major problems of air and environmental pollution nowadays if we learn to appreciate our God-given resources. Start helping our Mother Earth by joining reforestation campaigns, stop illegal loggers from indiscriminate logging and let us help one another to preserve our pristine forests in order to control and stop air and environment pollution and to maintain our healthy and well-balanced environment.
