Target Helps Toys R Us Revive Brand

toys-r-us-storeWhenever Christmas season arrives, our kids can’t help but feel giddy on the toys they’ll be receiving as gifts. Perhaps, the most prominent name when it comes to toys is Toys “R” Us.  A lot of hearts broke when the company announced that it will be closing its stores last year, thus signaling the end of an era. However, it seems like this household name is set to make a return through a partnership with another big retailer.

Earlier this month, fans of the toy company spotted the Toys “R” Us website up and running again. Target’s parent company, Tru Kids, apparently acquired the toy chain after filing bankruptcy last year. What’s even better news is that the relaunch of the website signals the process of the reopening of retail stores across the US as well.

On the new website, consumers that click on buy for the toys will be redirected to Target.com allowing them to make the purchase on that website instead. This is a good deal for both companies as it will help Toys “R” Us get back on its feet while Target will get more toy sales by partnering with a well-known brand in toy distribution.

The website also features articles and reviews about new toys and manufacturers. It will also feature in-depth product reviews to help parents make well-informed purchases. Of course, at the core of the deal is the fact that Toys “R” Us is on the verge of comeback and this time, it comes right before the Christmas rush.

The partnership will continue even after once Toys “R” Us launches its first experiential retail stores later this fall. The new stores will be up and running in Houston, Texas and Paramus, New Jersey. Hopefully, this will lay the ground work for future chains to come as the kids have surely missed going to Toys “R” Us.

These new stores will be different however. It will be a modernized toy store that comes with features like tree-houses for kids, and theaters for moves and games. In a way, the new Toys “R” Us stores are going to be more interactive than ever.

Now that Toys “R” Us is officially back, we’re sure that the kids will be very excited to once again go through their toys wish list. We can only hope that the new changes will result in more successful pastures for the toy giant.
